ISO
We worked with Hawkstone Consulting to create an ISO 27001 management system in order to obtain UKAS accredited ISO 27001 certification. We used the Hawkstone Consulting spreadsheet system which contains the necessary flow charts, risk register, Statement of Applicability and the internal audit checklists as well as other relevant documents, policies and procedures.
TIME FRAME
Over a period of 6 months, we implemented and internally audited all ISO 27001 requirements using the spreadsheet system. After we achieved ISO 27001 certification, we added the ISO 9001 requirements into the system.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
We wanted to achieve ISO 27001 as quickly as possible to ensure that we had effective information security and to meet the contractual requirements of key customers. We also wanted to integrate our historic, separate ISO 9001 documentation with the new ISO 27001 system so that we only had one integrated system covering both Standards. This was easy to do using the Hawkstone spreadsheet system.
OUTCOMES
We were successfully audited and certified for ISO 27001 after 6 months. At the next Certification Body surveillance audit, we had incorporated our existing ISO 9001 system into the ISO 27001 spreadsheet. We now have one integrated system that is straightforward to use. We have subsequently implemented and achieved ISO 17100.
